Hello readers!
It's been a while, but I swear, I have good reasons! When I last left you, I was going crazy with excitement for my trip to Ecuador and the Galapagos! I can say with confidence that this was the trip of a lifetime and I will never forget my amazing experience there! (Blog post on my trip is coming soon!) While I was gone, my roommate for this upcoming school year FINALLY found us a beautiful apartment! After I returned to the States and recovered from a brutal 36- hour airport experience, I visited the apartment and fell in love! Soon after, we started the furniture-hunting process. After a couple days with no luck, we made an exciting but grueling trip to IKEA (that took all day, and I mean ALL DAY), and purchased an entire apartment's worth of furniture at once. We signed up for home delivery and were a little devastated when we found out that we would have to wait almost three weeks for our furniture to be delivered. We waited... and waited... and waited... all the while making up any reason to sit in an empty apartment (we were paying the rent, to be fair!). Finally, delivery day arrived. All went smoothly, and we ended up building every piece of furniture within 24 hours! I won't mention the impromptu trip back to IKEA. And now, after months of searching, devastation, hopefulness, more devastation, and finally success, we have an amazing and fully-furnished apartment waiting for us. It feels great! This summer has been both insanely busy and extremely boring at the same time. When I'm not traveling or building cheap Swedish furniture, I am doing nothing. I long for school to start again so I can get back into a routine and feel like I'm being at least a little productive. I still can't believe that I'm going to be a junior in college. Time flies. Anyways, I promise I'll tell you all about my study abroad experience as soon as I can, and until then, hasta luego!
Sincerely,
T
